I know this game's tune very well, because it was part of the Amiga demo 100 C64 SID Tunes. I remember listening to this demo for hours! In fact, I still keep listening to SID tunes today.

As for the game, I have never seen it. In fact, Zzapp! 64 gave it a bad review (36%), so I guess I didn't miss a lot. The title picture looks nice in my opinion. It captures successfully the spirit of the commercial that shows a lot of art and creativity.

I did my best to stick to the commercial. For instance, I tried my best to match the font of the game title. Not easy to match the thin black lines because of the C64's low resolution. I also tried to reproduce the Odin signature. Not sure it would actually be readable on the white background on a tv set, but at least it's more colorful.

As for the rest, I made the goal (the big ball with a hole in it) and the pole as smooth as I could. I think they look much more convincing now. The main problem with the player was the fact that several conflicting colors were often needed next to each other, wich is something the C64 is not very good at. Red plus shades of blue, Yellow and orange plus shades of blue, all of that can become like a jigsaw puzzle. The original already did a good job but I managed to squeeze some more color out of it.

As a finishing touch, I took the time and patience needed to add lots of dithering and antialiasing everywhere.

Oh! And a new jetpack too. That helped. \o/

Technical Bit

This picture uses full multicolor mode. My version uses that same mode. My picture covers a larger part of the screen, so it needs more disk to store. That might be a problem.
